Amassing a Practical Enterprise Taxonomy: The Foundation for Effective Content Alignment: The Energy Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) manages the flow of power to 24 million customers – about 90% of the Texas electrical load. Critical to their business is the ability to provide clear communications and reliable data to their constituents; consumers, cooperatives, power generators, and more. They need to be able to do this in a rapidly changing, data-driven environment.

To help ERCOT deliver more efficiently, Access Sciences developed a controlled vocabulary – a common language to help organize content and clarify communications. In this pdf version of the slides presented at ARMA Houston's Spring Conference, you will see how Access Sciences built support for the new vocabulary, educated users, and designed governance that allows for feedback and continuous improvement.
