Access Sciences Bike Team Ready to Ride Again
The Access Sciences Bike Team has come together for the second straight year to raise money and ride in the name of fighting Multiple Sclerosis. The BP MS150 is set to take to the highways on Saturday, April 18 and 19 for the 150+ mile ride from Houston to the state Capitol of Austin, Texas.
The BP MS150 is the largest of the 100 Bike MS events in the United States with 13,000 cyclists and 3,500 volunteers with countless spectators along the route and at the finish line in Austin. With an event this size, team jerseys are always a topic of conversation. There is even a contest in LaGrange with various categories for "best jersey". For a preview of this year's best in cycling jersey fashion, see the Houston Chronicle's feature. (Access Sciences attractive jersey is in image #9.)
In 2014, the BP MS150 set a fundraising milestone by raising $20 million dollars to support the mission of the National MS Society to create a world free of MS. The fundraising goal for the 2015 BP MS 150 is $21 million dollars. The Access Sciences Bike Team began preparation for this year's ride by setting a fundraising goal of $15,000 for their small, 2nd year team. As more riders committed to the challenge, this goal was quickly achieved and then exceeded. To date, the ASBT is proud to report that they have acieved 151% of their goal, raising over $22,000! If you would like to make a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, you may do so here. Fundraising for this event continues through July.
