Access Sciences Corp.

Janice C. Anderson, Founder and CEO

Low-tech explanation: Access Sciences is an information management and technology consulting firm. We help clients apply tools and techniques to manage their information so employees can find what they need, and in the normal course of business, get rid of information they do not need.

“Light bulb” moment: The defining moment was the realization that information, as an enterprise asset, must be accessible in order to be used and managed. Applying processes and technology to those diverse information collections is what Access Sciences is all about.

What lies ahead: Customers are becoming more and more sophisticated in their understanding of information management. Their expectations for what technology can do for them are always increasing. Our role is to help our clients plan and manage the programs we implement and lead so that their organization can thrive while the technology meets and exceeds their expectations.

If you had the opportunity to start another business, what would it be? It would definitely be in the information management and technology space. The current direction and trajectory of information management as a discipline and the diversity of technology tools make it an exciting industry segment in which to participate.

Little-known fact: I am a librarian who expanded the proverbial “bun”’ into a “bun-dle” of proven methods, tools and technology to make information assets deliver value for our clients. My academic roots in the field may be traditional, but my approach is anything but!
